OBEY GOD, NOT MEN

2 Kings 1:2- 17

² Now Ahaziah had fallen through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria and injured himself. So he sent messengers, saying to them, “Go and consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, to see if I will recover from this injury.”

³ But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Go up and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going off to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?’ ⁴ Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘You will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die!’” So Elijah went.

⁵ When the messengers returned to the king, he asked them, “Why have you come back?”

⁶ “A man came to meet us,” they replied. “And he said to us, ‘Go back to the king who sent you and tell him, “This is what the Lord says: Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending messengers to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die!”’”

⁷ The king asked them, “What kind of man was it who came to meet you and told you this?”

⁸ They replied, “He had a garment of hair and had a leather belt around his waist.”

The king said, “That was Elijah the Tishbite.”

⁹ Then he sent to Elijah a captain with his company of fifty men. The captain went up to Elijah, who was sitting on the top of a hill, and said to him, “Man of God, the king says, ‘Come down!’”

¹⁰ Elijah answered the captain, “If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!” Then fire fell from heaven and consumed the captain and his men.

¹¹ At this the king sent to Elijah another captain with his fifty men. The captain said to him, “Man of God, this is what the king says, ‘Come down at once!’”

¹² “If I am a man of God,” Elijah replied, “may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!” Then the fire of God fell from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.

¹³ So the king sent a third captain with his fifty men. This third captain went up and fell on his knees before Elijah. “Man of God,” he begged, “please have respect for my life and the lives of these fifty men, your servants! ¹⁴ See, fire has fallen from heaven and consumed the first two captains and all their men. But now have respect for my life!”

¹⁵ The angel of the Lord said to Elijah, “Go down with him; do not be afraid of him.” So Elijah got up and went down with him to the king.

¹⁶ He told the king, “This is what the Lord says: Is it because there is no God in Israel for you to consult that you have sent messengers to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Because you have done this, you will never leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die!” ¹⁷ So he died, according to the word of the Lord that Elijah had spoken.

Why did God destroy 102 men? Doesn’t that seem kind of harsh? But we must realize that in this historical recount, the captains and their men were following orders of their superiors and helping them commit wickedness. Yet they knew Elijah was a man of God (1:9, 11). More than likely they were aware of the years of conflicts between Elijah and the evil King Ahab and Queen Jezebel. And they certainly knew of Elijah’s previous display as prophet of God on Mount Carmel and how God had shown up and overcome the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18: 16-46).

The soldiers had a choice. They could do the right thing and obey God or they could obey an evil King and help him in his rebelliousness against God. And their wrong choices brought upon their heads God’s judgment in this world. Not to mention what happened to them in the next.

It is no small “coincidence”, believe me, that Baal-Zebub – aka: Lord of the Flies – the false god of Ekron who represented false worship and moral filth – required both homosexual prostitutes at the false god’s temple sites as well as sacrificing of children in the fire in order to appease him.

Baal-Zebub has become synonymous with Satan.

These practices of revering homosexuality and all sexual perversion, as well as child sacrifice, are the same morally filthy practices absolutely and militantly required by the DNC and the left in today’s culture. 

Matthew 12: 22-32

Jesus and Beelzebul

²² Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. ²³ All the people were astonished and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”

²⁴ But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.”

²⁵ Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. ²⁶ If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? ²⁷ And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. ²⁸ But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

²⁹ “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.

³⁰ “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. ³¹ And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. ³² Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”

In other words, Jesus was saying, ‘why would evil drive itself out?’ The truth is plain to see and crystal clear before you. You moral fools – don’t you realize that your own actions and words testify against you?

And, another thing – and this is hugely important – is that Jesus was pronouncing judgment upon them. If they, the morally and spiritually wicked and filthy, who supposedly led the nation spiritually, called what was done by God an evil thing, then they were blind to God and what He was doing, and Who Jesus was. And as spiritually blind men who were calling God evil, they were securing their own eternal destinies to hell.

Now then, beware – those of you who act on orders of the Biden regime and help wicked men commit evil against the Lord’s anointed (Donald Trump as the duly elected leader of this nation) and against others – especially those who follow God. I’m speaking to you, staff members of the FBI, CIA, DOJ, IRS, and others.. Don’t just tell yourselves that you’re following orders when you raid innocent people’s homes. You will be judged by God. Don’t forget that. You had better halt in your tracks, take stock of your moral and spiritual condition, and proceed with caution.

Do this for your own sake.

Acts 5:29

²⁹ Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!”

At the risk of death, the Apostles infuriated the Pharisees, just as Jesus had done, by being determined to follow God, and careful not to call what was from God, evil.

Take heed, all of you who are now in the government, whether you are of lowly station, or high. Because you don’t want to cast your own souls into hell. Be careful now.
