Pray for Peace

June 20, 2025

I logged into X today for the sole purpose of sending a message to Ambassador Mike Huckabee, to let him know that I, and millions of Christians in America and around the world, are praying for him and the people of Israel. God told us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6). We also pray for Persia – that the oppressive regime falls and a new, democratic government rises up that gives freedom to it’s people, like Cyrus did in ancient times. We have a duty to pray to God and ask Him to do these things.

When I went to Ambassador Mike Huckabee’s page, I saw this, which practically brought tears to my eyes:

The original Truth Social post from President Trump is here:

Genesis 12:2-3 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you.” (because of Jesus Christ) (emphasis mine)

Psalm 122: 3-9 Jerusalem is built like a city
    that is closely compacted together.
That is where the tribes go up—
    the tribes of the Lord—
to praise the name of the Lord
according to the statute given to Israel.
There stand the thrones for judgment,
the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
May there be peace within your walls
    and security within your citadels.”
For the sake of my family and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
    I will seek your prosperity.

1 Timothy 2: 1-2First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone— for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity.

Revelation 21: 2-4I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. ‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”

UPDATE: A few hours after posting this article it came across “the wire” on the news that the American Embassy in Jerusalem was being evacuated – 79 members of staff and family members. Later last night Mike Huckabee reported that all were well.
